Psychology professor Phebe Cramer will retire from Williams College July 1, 2009. For more than 30 years, she has been teaching courses such as Developmental Psychology; Children’s Lives: Thinking, Feeling and Doing, and Childhood Disorders and Therapy. Her research interests include personality assessment as well as creativity and its associative processes. She is the author numerous scholarly articles and books. Her most recent works include Protecting the Self: Defense Mechanisms in Action” and “Story Telling, Narrative and the Thematic Apperception Test.” She received her B.A. in 1957 from the University of California at Berkeley and received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1962 from New York University.
