Andy Jaffe Takes His Jazz Skills Abroad

Andy Jaffe, senior lecturer in music, who is on leave spring semester, is a guest professor at The Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan. Summer 2009 will find him leading a quintet at the Toulon Jazz Festival in France.  He has been a leader in jazz pedagogy for more than 25 years, and has taught at the Berklee College of Music; The University of Massachusetts, Amherst; the graduate program in Afro-American Music and Jazz; the Institut Musical de formation Professionelle in Nimes, France; Amherst College; Tufts University; Smith College, and at Williams College as the Lyell B. Clay Artist-in-Residence and director of jazz performance.
